Support Women Champions of Diversity

Marsha Brown — Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) award-winning alumna, Ambassador for Food For The Poor Canada, and recipient of the 2021 Badge of Honour Award for Meritorious Service for her dedicated service to the field of Philanthropy in Canada and Jamaica — wants to see more young women recognized for their work to champion diversity and inclusion in our workplaces, educational institutions and communities.

The Women Champions of Diversity Award at TMU recognizes the outstanding leadership qualities of students who actively champion diversity and inclusion, and rewards their efforts with a $2,000 financial award. This award is recognized by president and vice-chancellor, Mohamed Lachemi, as part of the Presidents' Awards to Champion Equity student award program.

Since its establishment in 2020, over $17,000 has been raised in support of this award from more than 100 individual donors, making it possible for two awards of $2,000 to be granted annually.

Marsha personally commits financially each year to support this important award, and for her 55th birthday on November 14, 2024, she is determined to raise an additional $5,500 in support for this award. Marsha humbly invites you to join her in supporting students who are making positive change in the community. Your tax-deductible donation to support the Women Champions of Diversity Award will ensure that more students have an opportunity at academic and personal success.
